There is a place where fairies fly, trolls stomp, lions roar and tree guardians watch our every step. This place can only be found in the imagination of the children ( sometimes adults) when they are happy and safe. Especially in a wild place, an exciting place, a muddy place or even a garden.
With the freedom to explore, learn, take risks and just listen, the imagination often explodes with creations that only see the light of day at Forest School. There is little need to set the challenge of creating. Fairy and troll houses litter the woodland, happy faces on the ground carefully framed with well chosen sticks, rafts designed and built to launch on a stream or pond or puddle and animals crafted from clay or mud.
All of these need no careful planning, no hours of drawing but a pinch of nature, a hint of freedom, a spoonful of the elements and a huge helping of the outdoors.
Weeks and seasons pass and creativity grows. children and adults re invent, re inspire as we learn from each other. Past successes and failures offering lessons that can only be learned when doing, watching and experiencing.
